Working together with the debt advice community

At Bradford & Bingley and Mortgage Express, our mission is to provide help and support to existing customers for as long as they remain with us. To this end we have developed a proactive approach to support customers who are facing financial difficulty with a dedicated Customer Assistance Team.

By forging strong relationships with the Debt Advice community, we aim to ensure that all customers who are in need are given the help, support and direction they need to get the right advice from the right agency.

We look to continually improve the level of support we can offer to customers who are either facing a crisis point now or who could face payment difficulties in the future.

We are committed to a partnership approach to solving customer debt problems, working together to provide support. Currently we work with a range of key partners including: StepChange Debt Charity, National Debtline, Money Advice Service and Citizen's Advice Bureau, whilst also engaging with DRF and DEMSA members.

Since October 2010, we have been managed as part of UKAR (UK Asset Resolution Limited), a holding company established by the government to manage the publicly owned mortgages of Bradford & Bingley and its subsidiary Mortgage Express, together with NRAM plc.
