Dividend Reinvestment Plan

We are pleased to announce that Bradford & Bingley plc "the Company" has decided to offer a Dividend Reinvestment Plan ("DRIP") to its existing shareholders.

Main Features

• Service allows you to uses your whole cash dividend to buy additional shares in a cost effective way
• Easy and convenient way to grow your shareholding
• Simple and secure online application process
• Your new shares will be bought on or after the dividend payment date
  And added to your holding

How much does it cost?

• 0.5% of the value of the shares purchased, £1 minimum
• Stamp duty reserve tax currently at 0.5% of the value of the shares purchased (for example, for those shareholders with 250 shares the total DRIP cost for shares purchased for the May 2006 dividend would have been in the region of £1.13)
• Joining and leaving the DRIP – no charge

How do I join?

To sign up straight away please visit

www.computershare.com/Investors/UK and follow the simple on-screen instructions:

• Click on ‘Register Now’ to sign up to the Investor Centre. This will allow you to carry out a number of share related transactions online, including opting for the DRIP.
• You will be required to fill in your Shareholder Reference Number (SRN) including the alpha I or C and your postcode, together with your email address. You will also be asked to select a User name (ID) and password of your choice.
• Once registered select ‘Reinvestment Plans’ from the left hand menu and amend your current cash dividend instruction, confirming acceptance of the DRIP terms and conditions.

We hope that most people will choose to join the DRIP using the online process because this is the quickest and most cost-effective method; saving money for Bradford & Bingley plc and being environmentally friendly as less paper is used. If you do not have access to the internet you can request a form by telephoning 0844 472 6003.

Note:
If you do not wish to participate in the DRIP and would prefer to continue to receive payment of your dividends in cash you need take no further action. If you have any doubt as to the action you should take you should seek independent financial advice.
