Branch Manager

Describe your current role

Currently in a Branch Manager position. Due to complete induction mid January. I manage a team of 2 full time employees and 2 part time. Having been in the role for only 12 weeks I am still developing.

What attracted you to initially apply to B&B?

I had previously worked for B&B and left in 2002 to join a major high street bank which ended up not putting its staff or its customers first. When the position for Part Time Sales Associate came up within Branch I applied immediately. Although I had learned so much and gained so much experience from my previous role, I know that joining B&B has opened so many doors and will provide far better career progression and development for myself. The fact that I applied for a Sales Associate position and was appointed as Branch Manager has shown me that we want the right people in the right places.

What do you find is the best thing about working for B&B?

Since joining I have had fantastic support from my Area Sales Manager and training from Learning & Development especially the Sales Training Manager. This support continues across the network including Human Resources, other Branch Managers, Audit, Health & Safety and no one is ever too busy to help if and when required. Everyone's focus and ambition to achieve is paramount. Their motivation and drive is inspiring.

Briefly describe the culture at B&B

I have joined at a time where we are reverting back to B&B's mortgages and find this and the B&B sales way is the way forward for 2007. The sales course was the most interesting and inspiring course I have been on through my career. It's different and will make the difference. It has turned to a very investors in people business and the implementation of regular and structured training will implement the staff in their career progression and will also have a valuable impact on its customers. This will fulfil the mission to Build a Better Future and our aim to lead the UK's specialist lending market.

Have you achieved anything you're particularly proud of since working here?

I can honestly say that since joining the fact that I enjoy my job so much has had such an impact on my self confidence both as an individual and at work. I have had many challenges during my short time but am pleased to say I have overcome them all... hopefully. I know I still have so much to do and I look forward to achieving all that will be thrown at me. I basically feel proud to work in an environment where I have been extremely influenced by the motivation and enthusiasm shown by everyone around me.

Provide a brief overview of your career to date with B&B

Previously worked for B&B as a Sales Associate from 2000-2002. Left to work for another financial institution and returned to B&B in Sept 2006 as Branch Manager, coming to completion of my induction mid Jan 2007. Attended numerous courses since joining and participated in the pilot for roll out of the Coaching Skills course that is currently underway.
